There are certain conditions for energy-saving of frequency converters. By appropriately modifying the operating parameters without affecting the normal use of the frequency converter, the energy consumed by unreasonable operating parameters can be saved, achieving a transition from normal operation to economic operation and achieving a more energy-saving effect.
1. To save energy, the frequency of the frequency converter must be reduced:
The greater the decrease in efficiency, the more energy the frequency converter saves. If the frequency is not reduced, the frequency converter cannot save energy in principle.
2. The amount of energy saved by the frequency converter is related to the load rate of the motor:
When the load rate of the electric motor is between 10% and 90%, the maximum energy-saving rate is about 8% to 10%. Although the lower the load rate of the motor, the higher the power saving rate, the reactive power saving rate is about 40% to 50%, which does not include electricity bills.
3. The energy-saving of the frequency converter is related to the rationality of the original operating condition parameter values:
For example, it is related to the adjustable values such as pressure, flow rate, and speed. If the adjustable value is large, the energy-saving rate will be high, otherwise the opposite is true.
4. The energy-saving of the frequency converter is related to the original adjustment method used:
Using imported or exported valves to adjust operating parameters is very uneconomical. If it is changed to frequency converter speed regulation, it is economically reasonable. Frequency converter speed regulation can save up to 20% to 30% more electricity than manual valve adjustment operation methods.
5. The energy-saving of frequency converters is related to the working mode of electric motors:
The energy savings of electric motors during continuous operation, short-term operation, and intermittent operation are different.
6. The energy-saving of the frequency converter is related to the duration of the motor's operation:
If the device is turned on for 24 hours a day, the energy savings will be greater if it is turned on for 365 days a year, and vice versa.
7. Energy feedback device (feedback unit) for frequency converter matching
Transforming the mechanical energy (potential energy, kinetic energy) on the load during motion into electrical energy (regenerated electrical energy) through an energy feedback device and returning it to the AC power grid for use by other nearby electrical equipment, so that the motor drive system can reduce the consumption of grid electrical energy per unit time, thereby achieving the goal of energy conservation.
When choosing a frequency converter for speed regulation or energy saving, the above seven principles should be followed as a prerequisite for deciding the plan. By appropriately changing the operating parameters of the frequency converter without affecting its normal use, the energy consumed by unreasonable operating parameters can be saved, and the transition from normal operation to energy-saving and economical operation can be achieved.
