Comment entretenir le convertisseur de fréquence en été, par forte chaleur ?

The supplier of the frequency converter braking unit reminds you that it will soon enter summer, and for the frequency converter that is indispensable for equipment control and speed regulation, the scorching sun and hot weather are the hard wounds of the frequency converter heating. Numerous studies and practices have shown that the failure rate of frequency converters increases with temperature, while their service life decreases. When the ambient temperature rises by 10 ℃, the service life of frequency converters will be halved. For this reason, now let's analyze the causes of overheating faults in frequency converters and the corresponding solutions to solve the problems:

1. The ambient temperature is too high

Reason: The interior of the frequency converter is composed of countless electronic components, which generate a large amount of heat during operation, especially when IGBT operates at high frequencies, the heat generated will be even greater. If the ambient temperature is too high, it can also cause the internal components of the inverter to overheat. To protect the internal circuit of the inverter, the inverter will report a high temperature fault and shut down.

Countermeasure: Reduce the temperature of the location where the frequency converter is located, such as installing forced cooling measures such as air conditioning or fans.

2. Poor ventilation of frequency converter

Reason: If the air duct of the frequency converter itself is blocked or the air duct of the control cabinet is blocked, it will affect the internal heat dissipation of the frequency converter, leading to overheating alarm of the frequency converter.

Countermeasure: Regularly inspect the frequency converter, remove the garbage in its air duct, and smooth the air duct.

3. Fan stuck or damaged

Reason: When the frequency converter fan is broken, a large amount of heat accumulates inside the frequency converter and cannot be dissipated.

From this, it can be seen that the maintenance and upkeep of the frequency converter are particularly important. So, how can we reduce the failure rate, make the frequency converter safely survive the summer, and minimize customer losses? Therefore, the following aspects will be briefly introduced now:

1、 Pay attention to these points during summer frequency converter maintenance: suitable temperature, humidity, ventilation, dust-free and interference free, and clean the internal and external parts of the frequency converter.

2、 What are the main aspects that directly affect the heat dissipation of the frequency converter?

1. Fan operation protection, the built-in fan of the frequency converter is the main means of heat dissipation inside the box, which will ensure the normal operation of the control circuit. So, if the fan is not running properly, maintenance should be carried out immediately.

2. Overheating protection of inverter module heat dissipation plate. The inverter module is the main component that generates heat inside the frequency converter, and it is also the most important and fragile component in the frequency converter. So, each frequency converter is equipped with overheat protection devices on the heat dissipation board.

3. The inlet and outlet of the cooling air duct must not be blocked, and the ambient temperature may also be higher than the allowable value of the frequency converter. Targeted solutions and improvement suggestions have been proposed, which have certain reference value for the application of frequency converters in practical engineering.

4. Attention should be paid to the interference problem of the frequency converter on the microcomputer control board. The process level of the microcomputer control board designed by the user is poor and does not comply with EMC international standards. After using a frequency converter, the conducted and radiated interference generated often leads to abnormal operation of the control system. Necessary measures should be taken.

3、 Precautions for summer maintenance and upkeep of frequency converters:

1.  Check the operating status of the frequency converter, whether the voltage and current values during operation are within the normal range.

2. Carefully monitor and record the ambient temperature of the frequency conversion room, which is generally between -10 ℃ and 40 ℃. The temperature rise of the phase-shifting transformer cannot exceed 130 ℃.

3. Avoid direct sunlight, damp areas, and areas with water droplets. Summer is a rainy season, so it is important to prevent rainwater from entering the interior of the inverter (such as rainwater entering through the tailwind outlet).

4. Inverter installation:

(1) The temperature is high in summer, so it is necessary to strengthen the ventilation and heat dissipation of the frequency converter installation site. Ensure that the surrounding air does not contain excessive dust, acids, salts, corrosive and explosive gases.

(2) In order to maintain good ventilation, the distance between the frequency converter and surrounding obstacles should be ≥ 125px on both sides and ≥ 300px above and below.

(3) In order to improve the cooling effect, all frequency converters should be installed vertically. To prevent foreign objects from falling on the outlet of the frequency converter and blocking the air duct, it is best to install a protective mesh cover above the outlet of the frequency converter.

(4) When two or more frequency converters are installed in a control cabinet, they should be installed side by side (horizontally arranged) as much as possible. If vertical arrangement is necessary, a horizontal partition should be installed between the two frequency converters to prevent hot air from the lower frequency converter from entering the upper frequency converter.

1) Vérifiez l'apparence du ventilateur et si le cordon d'alimentation du ventilateur est détaché ou endommagé ; vérifiez si les pales du ventilateur sont cassées ;

2) Écoutez attentivement le ventilateur pour détecter tout bruit anormal ;
